150 Pilgrims killed in Hajj stampede

No fewer than 150 pilgrims were killed today September 24th in a stampede at the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. According to reports, 400 other pilgrims were injured in the stampede which happened in Mina, on the outskirts of the holy city of Mecca.

Two Siblings Burnt In Osogbo Petrol Station Fire Disaster

An outbreak at `Bovas’ petrol station in Osogbo today caused pandemonium as two children of the same mother were burnt to death, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

An elderly man (in the silver car) failed to give way to another driver in a narrow tunnel on Forlease Road. But rather than forgive the man and be the bigger person, the woman (left in the black convertible Mercedes) decided to stand her ground, refusing to go back. Democratic rule has been restored in Burkina Faso after the coup leaders backed down and relinquished power. This comes 24 hours after ECOWAS leaders led by President Buhari met in Abuja and decided to intervene in the crises rocking the country.

At least one person has been declared missing and 21 others rescued after two boat mishap occurred at different times along More Island and Tincan Island in Lagos today.

African Games: Lagos NSCDC congratulates officers

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Lagos State Command, has sent  congratulatory messages to three of its officers who participated in the just concluded All African Games which took place in Congo Brazaville.

The State Commandant of NSCDC Gabriel Abafi in a statement Tuesday, said the officers are Vera Azike, Makanju Gbolahan and Tijani Nureni.

Please recall that yesterday advancing troops along Banki axis were making tremendous progress in which they cleared 2 Boko Haram terrorists camps at Jangurori and Bulatori villages. In addition to that, the troops have also arrested 43 suspected Boko Haram terrorists including one of the Boko Haram kingpins in the area, Bulama Modu who is an ‘Amir’ of Bulakuri. The troops also rescued 241 women & children during the operation.
