Rasaq Bello AKA Hambuger Of NURTW Shot, Feared Dead [Photo]

A prominent member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos is feared dead.
Rasaq Bello, popularly called Hamburger, was shot on Monday in the Shogunle area of Lagos during the local council primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was shot by members of a rival gang led by Samson Agbetoye, popularly called Golden. Golden belongs to the MC Olumo faction of the NURTW in the state.

NYSC Will Start Posting Youth Corpers To Farms -Director General Of NYSC, Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure

Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ), said on Monday that the scheme would soon begin posting of corps members to farms, The Guardian reports.

Kazaure said this in an interview with newsmen during his official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun.

He said that the move to deploy corps members in farms was in line with the agricultural development programme of the NYSC.

The officers acted on phone report to RRS Control Room of a fraud by one Mr Kelvin Oyenuga over the supply of 25 units of HP laptop to the Lagos State Ministry of Works, Alausa, through Olaogun Tunde. Olaogun, through connections was linked up with Oyenuga for the supply of 25 laptops amounting to N4, 625,000:00. In making a N2.5m payment before delivery, Olaogun initiated a fake online transfer from a Keystone Bank to Oyenuga’s GTB account. He immediately showed a fake debit alert on his phone to Oyenuga. On delivery, the same day, he issued another dud cheque of N2.125m.

Tragedy struck in the Ajuwon area of Lagos State on Wednesday May 17, at Bada Hospital at Bale road, when a young lady said to be in her late 20's committed suicide by drinking sniper insecticide.

The lady, identified as Patience Akpan, was said to have left her father's place that Wednesday afternoon before she was seen in another street within the area wringing in pains, with the sniper bottle still in her hands.
